One of the most exciting events in your life will be having a baby.  As you prepare for the arrival of your baby you will want to look for items that are safe, soft, and fun.  These characteristics should not only be present in the baby’s room décor, it should also be present in your baby boy bedding.

The first thing that you will want to look for in baby boy bedding is that it is made from safe and soft materials.  100 percent cotton is the best fabric for baby bedding.  This is because it is soft, it is washable, and it is all natural.  If you are trying to create an earth friendly nursery then you can also look for 100 percent organic cotton that hasn’t been died, or that has been died with natural and organic dies.  The texture of the fabric should also be taken into consideration.  Some cotton blends tend to be a little stiff.  When you are shopping for baby bedding feel the fabric to make sure that the fabric is not only easy to bend and fold, but that it is also soft when you run your hand over the nap of the fabric.  Try to avoid fabrics that are scratchy or overly stiff to the touch.

The second thing that you will want to look for when buying baby boy bedding is that it colorful.  Baby’s love color, however, you don’t want to over-stimulate the baby in their crib either.  To find a nice balance of color diversity and serenity, you will want to look for color palettes that offer a variety of softer toned colors.  As your baby gets older you can transition the nursery’s color scheme to bolder color selections.

The third thing that you will want to look for when buying baby boy bedding is that it has a fun design on it.  You have many different baby boy bedding sets that you can choose from.  Some bedding sets include animal themes, while others include nautical themes.  Choose a theme that will fit in with the existing theme and colors of the nursery.  Or you can find a bedding set first, and then design the other elements of your nursery around the bedding.

Next you will want to look at what is included in the bedding set.  You have several purchasing options when shopping for baby bedding.  Your first option is to buy each bedding piece individually.  This is a good option if you find individual pieces that you like, or if you are shopping for a baby shower.  Your second option is to buy a three-piece bedding set.  This set usually includes the comforter, a bumper, and a fitted sheet.  A four piece set will generally include all the items from the three piece set as well as a crib skirt.  A five or six piece set will generally include everything that the three and four piece sets included plus a diaper bag, sham, pillow, diaper stacker, or a mobile.
