Toddler BedYour baby has been sleeping in a crib for quite some time, and now you might be wondering if it’s time to move him to a toddler bed. How can you know for sure what age is right for a toddler bed? One sure sign to know if he is ready for a toddler bed is if your little one has learned or is trying to climb out of his crib. Consider the dangers of how serious a fall could be from the crib compared to a fall from a toddler bed, which is usually positioned very low on the ground. It is a good idea to select a toddler bed that is equipped with a safety railing to keep your child from falling out of bed. Aside from personal safety, another reason to move your child to a toddler bed is if you need the crib because you now have a new baby on the way. It would be a good idea to move him to the toddler bed way before the birth of the baby in order to avoid jealousy over loosing his crib to someone new. One more reason to switch to a toddler bed is if your little one has reached the age of potty training. It would be too hard to get out of a crib to use the potty chair; however, a toddler bed would be more reasonable. Some children have trouble adjusting to a toddler bed. There are some things you can do to ease the transition into a toddler bed. You can position the toddler bed in the exact same spot as where the crib was. You can use the same bedding, even if it doesn’t correctly fit the larger toddler bed. Especially helpful is allowing him to keep a favorite blanket when he moves to a toddler bed. Toddler beds have come a long way in designing. Some toddler beds are modeled after popular cartoon characters, others as racing cars, and most are colors that attract very young children.
