Bed CoverThe bed cover is basically a bed sheet which covers the bed. It is sometimes a thicker and more ornamental bed sheet used to cover the bed to protect it from dust and other undesirable items, while at the same making the room look more presentable. The material that the bed cover is made of is usually cotton, though many times it can be a synthetic material and even silk. This is because the one of the main uses for the bed cover is to add beauty to the décor of the bedroom. Each region of the world has its own style of a bed cover. In some places, the bed cover was used solely for beautification purpose. However, there are places in US where the bed cover is used as a cover as well. Here, a bed sheet aptly named as ‘top sheet’ is laid above the normal bed sheet. The person would be expected to sleep in-between these two sheets. In some places this bed cover is dubbed as ‘comforter’ and is used to generate warmth. In some other places, the bed cover is fitted carefully to match the bed. These types are sometimes even fixed with elastic for better shape and fit to the mattress. A bed cover comes with a wide seam at on end. According to standard norms, the wide seam would go at the head of the mattress and be tucked in there. On a total different angle, the name of bed cover is also used in context with trucks. Yes– trucks! The truck bed cover is what covers the truck and is a semi-permanent way to cover the back vertically in order to protect valuables. In this manner, they also save a lot of fuel.
