Bed Spreads

A bedspread is what lies on top of everything else on your bed. Not only should it match with the rest of your bed set and décor, it should say something about you and your taste. Its’ main purpose is to decorate and accentuate. Other parts of your bedding set offer the comfort, and your bedspread needs to compliment those. When shopping for bed spreads you need to consider color, pattern, design, size, and thickness, and there are many options of all these features.

Some bedspreads can be very plain, like just being one solid color, or blocks of a couple different colors. While other bed spreads might offer very intricate patterns or designs. If the rest of your bedding set is very plain, than a very colorful or intricate bedspread would compliment it nicely. Just make sure it has the same colors in it as your other bedding materials.

If you have black and white sheets, comforter, and pillowcases, then you would probably want a bedspread with black and white in it, but it could be checkered or plaid, or any other type of intricate pattern or design. You could choose a pattern of flowers, which usually come in all sorts of colors, as well as plaid designs, stripes, patchwork, or abstract of sorts. If your bedding set itself is very colorful and intricate, then you might want to choose bed spreads that are more plain. That way your bed’s appearance won’t be too busy, and all the pieces won’t clash each other in an unattractive manner. If your comforter is of a flower, plaid, patchwork, or striped design, then look at bedspreads that are one or two of the colors in that design. This way they will compliment each other very nicely. Some people like the idea of a lace bedspread, because when laid over the rest of the bedding, you can still see the colors and patterns of the bedding through the lace Some people want their bedspread to be the same size as their comforter or top blanket, while others may want it to only cover the very top of the bed, but not hang over the sides. This way you can still see the other bedding.

You may be looking for bedspreads that will help keep you warm when sleeping, or you may want one that doesn’t do that, and will only be a decorative addition. A lace bedspread usually only serves as a decoration for your bed, while other bedspreads may still be thin, but can still help keep you cozy at night.

There are so many types, colors, and designs of bedspreads, so take your time shopping for one. Make sure it doesn’t only match the rest of your bedding set, but also matches your room as a whole, and not just match, but compliment and accentuate. It can be a wonderful addition to anyone’s bedroom, whether it is your bedroom, your child’s, or in the guest room. Your décor can be totally improved just by purchasing new bed spreads.
