Cotton Linens

While there are a number of different cotton linens available on the market today, the most common ones are those made of Egyptian cotton. For many years, people believed that cotton was cotton, however, due to the fact that Egyptian cotton has longer staple fibers then other cottons, its products are not only softer then those made from other cottons, but more durable as well. Even though cotton is produced in other countries, such as Italy and North America, the kind that is grown in Egypt has been proven to be far superior to its competitors. The most common types of linens made from cotton in most parts of the world are towels and bed sheets, and while these are not the only ones, they are much more popular to both consumers and manufacturers then the other types.

The feel of a new set of the sheets that have been made from Egyptian cotton is a bit stiffer then some of the other brands, but with every wash they become softer and softer which means, contrary to what you might expect, these sheets will become cozier as time goes on. So, whether you choose to surround yourself with the amazing softness of the 1200 thread count sheets, or the 200 thread count ones, you can be sure that they’ll not only keep you comfy and cozy, but will last for many years to come as well.

Cotton, no matter where it’s from is one of the most naturally absorbent materials around, which is why it’s great for making towels. The longer staple fibers of the Egyptian cotton produces incredibly soft, extremely absorbent towels that will look and feel great wash after wash. These cotton linens offer some of the most amazing texture around combined with a long lasting durability that makes them perfect for any bathroom. Anything from an everyday combed-cotton towel to a much funkier safari and beach towels are sure to add the perfect touch.

Another reason why the things made from Egyptian cotton are thought of as the best on the market is because they produce less lint and therefore they won’t get those annoying little balls, or pill as people in the industry like to refer to it, after a wash like many other cotton linens do. Not so long ago, these high quality items were only available in high-end expensive shops that catered to the richer crowds, but luckily, this is no longer the case. Now days, you can find them in just about any department store in town and on hundreds of internet sites that specialize in making fine cotton linens.

Cotton has, and probably always will be one of the most valuable materials for making sheets, blankets, pillowcases, bedspread, towels, bathrobes and tons of other soft things, but for now, at least, the things that have been made using the cotton grown in the fields of Egypt are the best ones around. That’s not to say that other quality linens on the market aren’t very similar in both appearance and makeup to the untrained eye, but if having the best of the best is what you’re after, then Egyptian cotton linens are the only ones for you.
