Canopy Beds

Canopy beds are romantic and sweet, depending on the look you want to create. Classic canopy beds require bed posts that will support a canopy frame, but it is possible to create a canopy look without purchasing actual canopy beds. Although girls and young women love canopy beds, the look is not confined to females, and it is possible to find canopy beds that are stylish and elegant for couples as wells as single women. Canopy beds have removable posts with notches in the middle to connect the frame. The canopy frame may be sold with the bed or purchases separately. It is simple to assemble canopy beds by attaching the canopy into the notch of the bedposts. The fabric on the frame may be lacy, velvet or made of another material. It may function as a hood or may drape all the way to the floor, depending on the style.

Regular beds can be made to look like canopy beds by attaching curtain rods at the top and fastening fabric on the edges, causing a draping effect down the side of the beds. This is useful for beds that do not have canopy frames, but for canopy beds, fabric can be draped over the frames to create a similar effect. Some people prefer the draping to the “hood” look of traditional canopy beds, and may create this design by attaching a hook to the ceiling and draping fabric from the top. Four hooks may also be fastened at each end to support four drapes of fabric on each side.

The kind of fabric you use for canopy beds depends on the kind of style you want to create. A typical look for young girls is a pink and white design, with a pretty pink top and lace down the edges. Any kind of high-quality fabric is attractive on canopy beds, and canopy beds are great for any type of bedroom.
