King Size BedIf you are in the market for a king size bed, you will have two basic beds to choose from, the California King size bed or the Standard King size bed. So, what is the difference? The California King size bed is four inches longer than the Standard King bed. However, the Standard King size bed is four inches wider. The California King size bed works well for someone who is very tall. If you find your feet hanging over the end of a standard king size bed, you would probably rest better on a California King. The California King size bed is the longest on the market. If you are very tall you should be able to lay corner to corner on this bed without having any problems. The Standard King size bed works well for a couple who likes the extra room to spread out and sleep. This bed also works well for the couple who has a child who ends up sleeping between them. The Standard King size bed is the widest bed on the market. When it comes time to purchase sheets for your king bed, be very selective. You should know that the top flat sheet will work on both the Standard and California King. However, the fitted sheets will not. These sheets are cut to fit one bed or the other. If you have a California King size bed, search for sheet that are labeled such and vice versa. It is a good idea to measure your bed, both in length, width and thickness before you go to purchase sheets. Some manufacturers make their mattresses slightly different by an inch or two. To ensure that the sheets you are purchasing will fit, know your measurements before you make a purchase.
