Queen Beds

Queen beds are the most popular beds these days. Luxury apartments hardly go without queen size beds. Their tempting invitations nearly make it a necessity to know about queen beds and their comfort level.

What is a Queen Bed?

Queen bed, or queen size bed (to be more precise), has a width of 60 inches and a length of 80 inches. This makes queen beds 6 inches wider and 5 inches longer than a full size mattress. It is this extra size that promises maximal comfort. Still, queen size beds are not very ideal for couples since these allow 30 inches of sleeping space while using a single twin bed alone allows 9 more inches of width. However, most of the couples seem to like queen size beds.

Where to Use Queen Beds

Queen beds are ideal choice for guest rooms. They also suit smaller master bedrooms. Couples who can be easy with having close quarters will readily pick queen beds for their bedroom. What about single sleepers? Of course, these beds can be used by single people especially those who like to sprawl about during sleep.

Styles in Queen Beds

Various styles are now provided in queen beds for satiating the personal taste of consumers. Three styles are particularly popular among dwellers of luxury apartments:

- The Bradley design queen beds are distinguished by a combination of medium oak-stained posts and a textured black grill.
- Santa Barbara queen beds have cherry-finished posts along with a pewter-finished steel grill.
- San Marcosstyle queen beds are characterized by light posts of pine color and a copper-finished grill.

The representative luxury queen bed will include headboard, footboard and steel bed rails. Of course, you will need to pick the right size mattress that is available in different colors and styles to match your special queen size bed.
