Often a queen size bed is the choice for a bed given in dowry in Asia; this is so because these beds are specially meant for couples to sleep in. The double bed, which was recommended before is no more acceptable by the majority of people today and is considered passé. The queen size bed is about six inches wider than the standard double bed;
the adult bed or twin bed is not as glamorous as this bed, and neither is
as accommodative. The measurements say that it is easily 21 inches wider
than the twin bed, and about 6 inches than the double or full size bed. The
length on both instances exceeds only by 6 inches. The advantages: It looks glamorous and it gives ample of space for those who toss and turn at night. Bed sheets and other adornments for this bed size are easily available. It is smaller than the king size bed and larger than the double bed which strikes the right balance as far as size is concerned. It is great for tall people. The disadvantages: It might not fit smaller rooms making it necessary to have large rooms or cramped space. Sometimes, bed sheets that are meant for the queen size bed do not fit perfectly because the queen size bed is in-between the double and king sized bed.
