One third of the typical person’s life will be spent in bed. Because of this, it is very important to a number of people that they get a quality sleep experience during this time. Sleeping at night is the time when the body is able to rejuvenate itself and make itself capable of functioning again at a higher level. When the body is sleepy or tired, the quality of the person’s actions and thought processes is generally lessened. When a person wakes up in the morning, they usually either feel rested and ready to begin the day, or groggy and sore. Persons who get a good night’s sleep are most likely to be able to feel well in the morning, while persons who are constantly waking up and tossing and turning usually feel much worse when they get up in the morning to begin the day.

There are a number of items and factors that can influence a person’s sleep during the night, but of the items that have the most control over how a person feels in the morning the most easily recognized one is the type of mattress that they sleep on at night. One of the most traditionally used types of mattresses is the innerspring mattresses, which comes in a variety of different sizes ranging from twin sized to king sized. The type of mattress spring that is used in the bed will generally give the occupant of the bed an idea of the quality of the bed upon which they are or will be sleeping. This is why, when a person is going to go purchase a new innerspring mattress, they really investigate the mattress spring type and the gauges of the mattress springs when they are looking at different options of mattresses to purchase.

Good mattresses will have over 300 mattress springs located within the confines of the mattress itself. The more mattress springs that are present in the bed, the more supportive the mattress will be able to act toward the occupant. Some of the higher end innerspring mattresses have over 600 different mattress springs located inside of the mattress. Since some people prefer a firmer mattress and others prefer a softer mattress, the range between three hundred mattress springs and six hundred mattress springs is the typical amount that will be found in a good mattress. Generally speaking, the higher the number of coils, the more expensive the mattress will be. Despite this, most consumers believe that since such a substantial period of their lives will be spent in bed, it is important to be able to enjoy this time and invest in a mattress that will improve their quality of sleep.

When it comes to support, the thicker the wire of the mattress spring, the more comfortable the mattress will be. Gauges are measured in numbers, but the higher the number of the gauge, the thinner the mattress spring will be. For example, a mattress spring with a gauge of 15 is thicker than the mattress springs with a gauge of 18. Comfort is a personal preference and can be conclusively decided upon only by testing out the different types of innerspring mattresses that are available. After this, a person will be able to accurately decide on the type of innerspring mattress that is best for them.
